Belinda Woodall, Community Builder for Families, works closely with the families at Residences at First Avenue, Residences at Trolley Park, Summersong Townhomes, and Residences at Willow Park.  A few highlights of the events she organized in 2015: the annual poster contest, What Home Means to Me, the Children’s Achievement Awards at Willow Park, the talent show at First Avenue, and the multicultural barbecue at Summersong.  The events foster a sense of community by bringing the residents together and the relationships developed over time play an important role in garnering resident participation and a sense of belonging.  Ms. Woodall’s role is essential in keeping the momentum of comradeship going at the properties in both celebratory and somber times.

Summersong Townhomes Multicultural Barbecue
The rain did not deter residents from enjoying the multicultural barbecue at Summersong.  The residents brought potluck style dishes that included mac and cheese, corn bread, fried rice, mandu (Korean dumplings) and japchae (Korean noodle dish).  AHA staffer Larry Yoder manned the grill the entire time throughout the rain to keep up with the highly requested hamburgers and hot dogs.
