A few capital project highlights from 2015 includes a fresh repaint in an entirely new color scheme at First Ave.  Major work was completed at Trolley Park; structural columns were replaced in the underground parking garage and the concrete plaza was removed and replaced.  Sixth Ave also underwent major work; the structurally unsound balconies were removed and Juliet balconies were installed in its place.  The basketball court at Summersong was removed and replaced with garden beds.  Though not a capital project, Fletcher Gardens was selected as a canvas for a public art mural that is managed by the Aurora Cultural Arts District and funded by the Art in Public Places department of the City of Aurora.  The mural, “Starchild" Aurora Borealis, was created by artists Michael Ortiz and Jonathan Lamb of Like Minded Productions and spans 8 stories along the north, exterior wall at Fletcher.  It was completed in August 2015.
